RIDE WITH ENERGY
This browser-based calculator uses your duration and practiced carb intake to choose a conservative starting target. Q7 and Q12 can search Open Food Facts and a small manufacturer reference catalogue. Exact servings must be label-confirmed before use. Unmatched brand text supplies no nutrition values. Sweat losses are not inferred from symptoms.
Carbs: 30–60 g/hour for shorter rides; up to 90 g/hour for prolonged rides only when already practiced. Unknown tolerance starts at 45 g/hour (30 with GI issues). Fluid starts within 400–800 mL/hour, adjusted from reported habits. Sodium uses an initial drink concentration of 500 mg/L, or 700 mg/L for heavy sweating; these are planning assumptions, not a measured sweat test.
Confirmed product recipes override the generic bottle example; their carbs, sodium and known caffeine are counted together. Manufacturer mixing directions and package labels take precedence. All amounts include drink carbohydrates. Fluid and sodium targets require adjustment to thirst, actual sweat losses, conditions and product labels. No automatic caffeine dose is prescribed.
